Social Competition Implementation / Community
Dear DuoCards Team,
We are loyal users of your app, which has already made the process of learning words fun and effective. We would like to propose a new feature that we believe will significantly increase user engagement, motivation, and, as a result, the time they spend in the app. ✨
Proposed Feature: Friends and Competition Runs We propose implementing the ability to add friends by email address (or unique code/link) and run "Learning Runs" with them — short competitions, for example, for a week.
The purpose of the Run: A competition to see who: Score the most points (based on overall activity and correctly learned words); Learn the most new words during the competition period. 🚀 Rationale and Benefits for DuoCards
This feature is not just "another social option" — it is a powerful tool for retention and acquisition of new users:
1. Increased Engagement through Gamification: The competitive element is one of the strongest motivators in learning. By competing with friends, users will regularly return to the app to check their progress and get ahead of their rivals.
2. Virality and Engagement: To compete, you need to invite a friend. This will naturally encourage existing users to invite their friends who aren't yet using DuoCards, leading to organic growth of your user base.
3. Social Support and Accountability: Studying with like-minded people creates a sense of responsibility. Users will be less likely to miss a day of class knowing their friend is ahead of them in the "Run."
Implementation: For convenience, adding a friend can be as simple as clicking the "Invite" button: the user enters the friend's email address, and an invitation and a link to the app are sent to them. "Run" results can be displayed in a separate, motivating leaderboard. The implementation of social competitions will transform DuoCards from a simple learning tool into a social platform for language learning, giving you a competitive advantage.
You can even simply add groups, let's say a class is learning words and everyone can see who is working hard and who is not in this group.
Thank you for your attention to this suggestion. We really hope to see this feature in future updates!
