Quick Test / Test My Knowledge

Feature suggestion: Quick Test / Test My Knowledge I’d love to suggest a new feature that would make the learning process much faster and more flexible: Quick Test (Test My Knowledge). The idea is to allow users to select a deck or a specific set of cards and quickly test how well they already know them. The test could work like this: The user selects a deck/set of cards. Each card is shown once. If the user already knows the word, they swipe right. If they don’t know it or are unsure, they swipe left. At the end of the test, all cards marked as “known” could be automatically moved to the “Learned” status. Cards marked as unknown would remain in the regular learning/repetition cycle. This would essentially work as a quick filter for the user's existing knowledge. At the moment, a user has to swipe a card correctly multiple times before it eventually reaches the “Learned” stage. This works well for gradual learning, but sometimes a word is already familiar and can be remembered almost immediately. In those cases, going through the full repetition process feels unnecessarily long. For example, if I have a deck of 100 words and already know 60 of them, I could run a Quick Test once, swipe those 60 cards to the right, and immediately remove them from frequent repetition. The remaining 40 words would then become the actual words I need to focus on. This could be especially useful when: importing a new deck containing both familiar and unfamiliar words; returning to an old deck after a long break; studying vocabulary from another source and wanting to quickly identify gaps; simply wanting to clean up a deck and focus on words that still require practice. I think this could make the current learning system much more efficient without changing the existing spaced-repetition system. It would simply give users a faster way to tell the app: “I already know these words — please stop showing them to me so often.” Possible names: Quick Test — my favorite Test My Knowledge Quick Filter Knowledge Check Mark as Known I would personally go with Quick Test, because it clearly describes the feature while keeping it simple and intuitive.
