BUG: AI flashcard generation limit is 20 cards on paid subscription
Problem: trying to generate a flashcard deck via prompt and DuoCards refuses to generate > 20 cards on a paid subscription. Is the "free" mode limit still on here?
How to reproduce: Navigate to Library page, select the create menu item, select "Type a topic" and enter the following prompt:
Create a word list for the verbs "ser, estar, ir, tener, haber, hacer, decir, poder, poner, saber, querer" that includes all personas for the following tenses: Presente, Pretérito Indefinido, Pretérito Imperfecto, Presente de Subjuntivo, Imperativo Afirmativo as well as the past and present participles. Include the conjugated verb, the translation, and example usage.
How results didn't match expectations: There should be ~28 items per verb and only 20 cards were generated.
Comments: For ranking and perhaps the product owner - it is simply too tedious and error prone to get cards into this system - not renewing my family subscription that ends this month. I am replacing Duocards with gemini for data generation and I took a half day to replicate your flashcard functionality in Anki.
Some other parting notes
- I couldn't sign up any of my family on the family plan - it was too complicated for them.
- I wish I could turn off the whole gamification system - just replace it with stats and notification badges. In DuoLingo, it is effective. Here it is so off-putting, I don't want to open the app.
- I wish you had DuoLingo's word matching excercises - they are polished, highly playable, and highly effective.
