I see now. If the progress of the flashcards were marked during practise in the AI assistant, would it be sufficient for you? Can I amend this post to it? About volume buttons, there is a single post here, where you can vote: https://duocards.canny.io/feature-requests/p/rotate-slide-ca…
Personally, I only use card learning mode because it’s much easier to operate and more effective for me than listening to all the cards in a row in AI assistant mode. I get easily distracted from listening to all the words in the background, and working with cards feels much more convenient. In card learning mode, all attention stays on the process, since the next card won’t appear until you flip the previous one yourself. With cards, I can always take my time to think before flipping, without needing to press the Pause button. That’s why I prefer to learn words only with cards, never with AI dictation.
Jana from DuoCards listen to my words does not move cards from stagelearning to stage 'remember'.. Listen to my words is very useful AI feature but it solves different needs
Yes, and also may control card rotate/slide with volume buttons https://duocards.canny.io/feature-requests/p/blind-mode-1
Hello Anastasiia, can you please specify, what in particular should be done differently than the "Listen to my words" mode in AI assistant? As we intentionally placed it there, not in the card mode.
Jana from DuoCards Hello, Jana! In the current version of the app, when studying with flashcards, only the side with the language I’m learning (target language) is read aloud automatically. The side containing my "native language" is not read aloud so I have to look at the screen to see what's written. It would be much more convenient if both sides of the card (both target language and my language) were read aloud in card learning mode. This would make it possible to learn cards by listening, without needing to look at the screen. In short, please add the option to enable audio for both sides of the flashcard. 😁
Anastasiia Sierhieieva: I understand your request, but why don´t you listen to it through the AI assistant then, if it works the same way you described?
Jana from DuoCards Listening to all words in a row through an AI assistant doesn’t help with progress in the flashcards — it’s just passive listening. Personally, I also find it hard to concentrate on background playback, as I get easily distracted. And with the 'with translation' option enabled, there isn’t enough time to think and recall the answer before hearing the translation. Of course, playback can be paused, but that’s much less convenient than simply swiping cards left and right, because pausing requires looking at the screen to find the button. In contrast, cards can be flipped without looking at the screen. It would be even better if flipping cards could also be done with the volume buttons, even while the screen is locked, all within the same 'card learning mode'. What I really want is the ability to enable audio for both sides of a card in study mode, so I can actively work with my cards, check my answers, and still make real progress in learning.
Hello, we're going to archive this post for now, as it didn´t get so many votes, but don't worry, it's definitely noted.
