The feature that allows people to add their own pictures from the gallery is a great way to remember words better. It's probably even more useful than the offline feature.

M. Nabil hello, I have an update regarding this request - our goal is to move towards automatically generated images via AI. The idea is to generate images dynamically based on the card’a s content, so it can be more appropriate than the current solution. Is it a satisfying solution for you?
Jana from DuoCards I totally disagree with your argument. Nothing automated or AI generated will match the effectiveness and memory power of something you have experienced yourself. This auto generated photo is just an illustration and will never match this bill board I saw on my way to the gym :) You do what you want though.. But the app this way is useless for me :)
Jana from DuoCards This seems like a good step forward, as long as we can try different prompts until we find an image that works. You might not know The Chuckle Bros. (for instance) but if I could describe the scene and get something similar enough to nudge my mnemonic then this could work very well. I am unsure why this would be less work/overhead for you than allowing users to use their own locally hosted images, but if this works for you then I could definitely see it working for me. M. Nabil i am totally agree with you. AI is no good in compare to what you can personally experience and it will hugely helps you to remembe. I hope Duo Cards developer seriously consider our request and think out of the AI box in this context.

You can keep the shared decks and simply remove the images from them. This way, users can upload their own images one card at a time as they encounter them. This approach allows users to create their own associations, making the app much more effective while still maintaining control over the content that people see.

I think it would be great if you improved the AI pictures so it showed the meaning of the words or phrases more relatable since you can't add the feature that allows us to add our own pictures from gallery. Thank you.
I am learning birds now, their english names but also the birds, so seeing their real picture at the cards would help a lot.
Hi, and thank you for the suggestion! We often get this idea from users. The challenge, however, is that we need to control the pictures submitted to prevent inappropriate content, and with the volume of content in the app, this would be impossible. Michaela
Michaela Hi Michaela, Thanks for taking the time to reply. That makes perfect sense, and I get the concern around making sure everything stays appropriate. To be clear, I’m definitely not suggesting that images I attach should be uploaded and/or visible to other users - most of my images would be of no use to anyone but me anyway. What I’m proposing is simply an option for personal use, where I can add my own images to cards that only I can see. There would be no risk of inappropriate content affecting others, and no additional responsibility for Duo Cards in terms of content moderation. Thanks again. Hello Max, you can change the pictures by tapping the pen icon on a card, then tapping the picture itself. There's a wide gallery to choose from. Michaela from DuoCards

Michaela The picture can stay private, visible only to the user who added it (each user could then have a private gallery of uploaded photos to choose from when adding a picture to a card), so why would inappropriate pictures be a problem? You could limit the uploaded storage limit for free users, if it's something you worry about.

Okay, I understand that I can't add images from my phone due to potentially inappropriate content. But I don't understand why it can't be a user's personal gallery, which won't be accessible to other app users? 🤔 At least add watch face images to the images list, for example: "5 past 9", "15 to 8", etc.
