Please add the articles and plural forms to the title page of cards in german
Yes !
If you do any of this, please make it optional rather than automatic. I quite like to save chunks of texts as they are, e.g. a particular verb form I didn't know before. I'd get really annoyed if that was automatically transformed into an infinitive with heaps of grammar info. I can see the case for gender colour-coding though.
It will be great for German language!
Hi Alissa, thank you for your post. I am merging your idea into an existing one related to this topic "Add gender article when saving a word" to consolidate votes and keep things organized.✌️Michaela from DuoCards
The same with German
Yes ! I just posted a request on this ! In French or Dutch, every word is written with "a" in front of, which makes me need look for the good article gender, and change it manually on every card. What a waste of time !
Add me to this comment. Particularly because it's not always obvious by ending which gender some nouns are.
I would like to automatically have access to both singular and plural of a noun that is put into a card.
I agree it would be nice to save the base or more common gender and then generate gender/plural versions of the card for learning.
Agree, the same for Ukrainian nouns.
Agree, and I also left a similar feedback in the app itself. Hope they could add this!
I use built in AI to check gender and plural. And save it in card in braces like (m) (f) (n) - BTW app automatically paints these signs different color) But yes - having some tool like 'give me base info about word' that would show: For nouns - this word in single indefinite form - gender - defindefinite form (in Rimanian language definite and indefinite it changes ending of the word) - single and plural Fir verb - infinitive Often I face with new words in specific forms like past or plural and I have to google the basic form of the word
I just add "the" and the article appears. Then I remove the, because it looks clearer, but you can leave it anyway
dzedlajga but it gives you so much more unnecessary work -_-
Please please please! So tired of always checking third party websites just to add an article. Cool that it already has "gendered" color
I agree this feature would be incredibly useful. At the moment, we can type the gender article with the word, of course, but often articles contract such as in French "the egg" > "le oeuf" > "l'oeuf" and in the contraction you lose the ability to identify the gender of the word. It could be powerful to have the ability to customize the color of the card as the OP suggests or to have a new field on the card to capture/display the gender. Thank you!!
And not for only German. I want the same for Norwegian language. (and other nordic languages)
Something like this. I think in general the card should say the word type, and in the case of nouns in languages with a noun class system, it should say the gender/class of the noun.
I can only support this. Der die das for German.
it would be very nice to have a gender field and plural field for cards.
